Ravens banged up heading into KC, Chiefs sign WR Curtis

The Baltimore Ravens released their injury report today and it doesn’t look pretty. The Ravens listed several big time players on their injury report.

S Ed Reed (Chest): did not practice

DT Haloti Ngata (Thigh): did not practice

LB Terrell Suggs (Knee): did not practice

C Matt Birk (Knee): did not practice

There is a rumor that Reed’s injury is a broken rib. But I think these guys are good enough whereas they can miss a day of practice to recover and still play at a high level for Sunday’s playoff game.

The Chiefs also signed former 1000-yard receiver Kevin Curtis today. Curtis had surgery for testicular cancer earlier this year and was not signed. The Chiefs picked him up. It is unclear whether or not Curtis will play Sunday, but this is an interesting development. Dwayne Bowe was held out of practice today with a stomach bug. Bowe was seen limping off the field after last Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders. I’m wondering if this is something to worry about.

  • Hey Brian,

    Any prediction for the game?

I have a tough time seeing the Chiefs being able to get a run game going, so I’m not sure they’ll be able to pull of the victory, but given the injuries, that could make it really interesting. Plus, Bowe has a chance to come up big against the sub-par Raven corners. One last thing, I’m interested to see if Weis’ hire at Florida has any visible impact on the game.

Have to admit, I think the Ravens will move on, but I’ll certainly be rooting for the Chiefs.
