According to Adam Caplan, of The Sideline View, reports via Twitter that the Kansas City Chiefs have traded to acquire Full Back Anthony Sherman from the Arizona Cardinals. Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star, also confirmed the trade.
24 year-old Sherman was drafted in the 5th round of the 2011 NFL draft by the Cardinals and has played in 29 games in 2011 and 2012. Sherman is solely a blocking full back, with only one rushing attempt and thirteen receptions in two season.
Sherman played college football at Connecticut.
Reported by Ian Rapport of NFL.com, the Chiefs have given Javier Arenas in exchange for Sherman. According to Arenas’s agent Hadley Engelhard: “This is a trade based on KC’s acquisitions at CB, we were actively pursuing. We’re happy it’s to Cardinals.”
Arenas was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Inthree seasons, Areans has played in 47 games with 4 sacks and 2 interceptions with no punt or kick return touchdowns.
