According to the Twitter account of Nick Wright from 610 Sports (KCSP), the Kansas City Chiefs are very interested in former Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner and current free agent, Matt Leinart.
Leinart, a former 1st round draft pick, has struggled making an impact at the NFL level and is one of the most prolific draft busts of all time.
The move could signify that the Chiefs aren’t too confident in Matt Cassel and are looking for some insurance in case Cassel is ineffective or backup quarterback Brodie Croyle gets injured, as he so often does.
Leinart has a history with Chiefs’ head coach Todd Haley, as Haley was Leinart’s offensive coordinator in Arizona.

I'd be down with that. make cassel and leinart battle it out.
Wouldn't be a bad move, especially if he came cheap.
Leinart is a less accomplished version of Cassel. Cassel has at least had one good season under his belt.

I am going to vote no on Leinart. It don't think he is that good and I doubt he ever will be.
When hearing the possibilities of Matt Leinart being cut on Friday, my first thoughts were, "Oh no, now KC will sign another shitty QB!"
I bet KC will try to sign Leinart, but I am not a fan of the move. Hopefully Pete Carrol and the Seattle Seahawks get to him 1st.

Sorry to be a homer for my 1st favorite team, but Carson Palmer could use a better backup than his brother Jordan. I was glad to see the Bengals cut J.T. O'Sullivan, but adding Dan LeFevour doesn't make me confident they have found a solid backup in case Palmer gets injured. Therefore, as a Bengals fan, I would welcome Leinart.
