San Diego Chargers linebacker Stephen Cooper opened his mouth on Wednesday, speaking on the recent development of Matt Cassel’s health questions heading into Sunday’s game at San Diego.
“If he does suit up,” said Chargers linebacker Stephen Cooper of Cassel, “we are going to try to put him back on the bench if we have to.”
This is not the first time Cooper has started chirping early in the week before a Chiefs/Chargers game. Cooper said before the Monday Night Football home opener that the Chargers were going to “shut down the Chiefs” or some other non-descript smack talk.
Cassel’s status for Sunday is still unknown.
Stay classy, San Diego.

Bring it on!!!!
Yeah, one thing I hate in sports is people talking who can’t back it up.
I do think SD wins this week. However, when you just lost at home to the Raiders and are in a game that – if you lose – ends your season, then talking smack is not in your best interests.
My prediction – he’ll play for Rex Ryan and the Jets in the future.
Tom Brady with the quote of the century on MNF:
“Speak little when you lose, speak less when you win.”
Yeah, Brady learned that the hard way against the Giants.
I love smack talk of any type!
I will be the biggest trash talker once (if) the Royals are good again… However, my trash talk will be aimed at KC’s poser Yankees and Red Sox fans who want to come back to the Royals Kingdom!
