Week Seven: Another Win on the Horizon?

The Kansas City Chiefs players and fans must both be excited about the new look Raiders this weekend. Oakland is set to start newly acquired QB Carson Palmer this Sunday and that is good news. Palmer didn’t take part in any training camp this short offseason or has played in any games thus far this season. He will be rusty. He was great at overthrowing his WRs in Cincinnati; look for nothing less from him this weekend. The Raiders will no doubt stick to their dominant running attack, and if the Chiefs defense can limit Darren McFadden’s production there could be another win on the horizon.

Several NFL teams are on bye week this weekend so starting Matt Cassel could be a good option if you’re in need of a QB. Hopefully you’ve picked up Jackie Battle, and if you did please start him this weekend as well. Dwayne Bowe has moved to WR Tier 1 and should remain in your starting lineup the rest of the season baring an injury. Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster no longer have any fantasy value and shouldn’t even be on your bench. Steve Breaston’s fantasy value is on the rise, but I would wait for another good weekend out of him before giving him a start. However, if you are out of options this weekend Breaston could be a flex option.

The Silver and Black were desperate enough to mortgage their future on a retired QB to make a playoff run. Hopefully the Chiefs can come away with a win and show the Raiders how big a mistake they had made. As a Bengals fan I would love nothing more than to see Palmer get absolutely destroyed this Sunday.

  • Picking a 24-20 Chiefs loss, I see….

Thomas Jones looked good in week 5 with Battle starting at RB. It seemed as if Battle wore down the rush defense and Jones took advantage, unlike running behind 110 pounder Dexter McCluster. You don’t think he is worth a bench spot behind Jackie?

  • Hope your right I got Chiefs +4.5 was really surprised to see that coming off the bye week and QB situation in Oakland. I think Chiefs could win 21-17 I think Breaston has a good week.
