Week Three: Darn!

Well, we know one thing after this weekend… there are no longer any Chiefs worth having on your fantasy roster. However, after I lost by a fraction of a point I made it an effort to pickup Dexter McCluster as he know has some upside with Jamaal Charles being out for the season. McCluster might put the ball on the ground once a week, but is a viable flex player in PPR leagues. Dwayne Bowe owners should be disappointed, but don’t dump his just yet. Charles’s injury should increase his fantasy production, bench him until it looks like he is becoming a bigger part of the offense. Matt Cassel is an absolute bust and out of the 32 starting QBs he is dead last in my opinion. Steve Breaston was the “big” free agent signing this offseason, I’m wondering if we should put his face on milk cartons as he appears to be missing.

Week Two Kansas City Chiefs Fantasy Projections:

Matt Cassel: 175 yards passing, 0 TD, 3 INT

Steve Breaston: 2 receptions for 20 yards
Jeremy Urban: 2 receptions for 25 yards

  • Add McCluster?

    Me. No. Think. So.
He is just not large enough, when you compare his body mass and strength to the size of the people tackling him. It just doesn’t jive. the more he carries the ball as a running back or takes direct hits, the more likely he is to get put the ball on the turf. he is so niche, and needs so much space to be effective that I cant help but think his increased role is going to equate to the acceleration of his read-end’s movement toward the bench.

So glad I drafted Steve Smith (CAR), always like a receiver who could punch a dude in the teeth, and still catch the rock and score. No diva in him.

    See you later…………..

  • In a point per reception league, McCluster may worth a stash on the bench… Maybe even some value in the flex… but definitely only worth grabbing and keeping on the bench until we see how it plays out with his boost in workload.

  • My point was he only has value in PPR leagues as a flex option. He is a small guy, but look at what Darren Sproles has been doing in NO, not many rushes, but catching many balls.
