Followers, I have sad news to report this morning… I am no longer undefeated. A three point week five victory ironically turned to a three point week six loss. Who is to blame? I can only blame the Kansas City Chiefs Defense.
The horrible performance against the Texans cost me my bid for perfection. If they could have played like they did against the Colts everything would have been fine. The one thing I thought the Chiefs had going into that game was potential for a solid defensive outing. On the flip side it was good to see a productive day from the Chiefs offense. Matt Cassel actually looked like an NFL quarterback at times. Dwayne Bowe actually caught the ball more than he dropped the ball. The running back by committee approach appears to be more 50-50 than it ever has before. It seems now that Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones are the same player; they are getting about the same number of touches and recording similar stats. Fantasy wise it’s a coin flip to guess who will see the endzone week to week.
The best news for fantasy football players who have Chiefs on their rosters are that the schedule looks good for the remainder of the season for most of them to produce or show some improvement headed to playoff time. This coming Sunday against the Jaguars would be a good opportunity to see how well this team can play, at least in regards to fantasy. The Chiefs Defense bit me in the ass last week, but they are a must start for anyone this weekend. The Jaguars QB situation is a mess and will result in an increased opportunity for sacks and turnovers. The Jaguars defense doesn’t scare me either, of course neither did the Browns and the Chiefs struggles to move the ball against them.
I’m shocked to say this, but Cassel should be considered a sleeper at QB this week ONLY if your starter is hurt or on bye. Charles and Thomas should be in your starting lineup as well this week; I give a slight edge to Charles as he will score this weekend. If you haven’t dropped Bowe yet, or haven’t started him in awhile, this would be a good week to give him a chance. Hell, I think he might be available on some waiver wires. I still don’t trust Chris Chambers or Dexter McCluster in this passing game; if you have them you’re better off dropping them for a better option. Tony Moeaki will continue his impressive rookie campaign and should see another TD come his way. This could be a good week for Ryan Succop as well.
Week 7 projections for your Kansas City Chiefs:
Matt Cassel: 215 yards, 2 TD
Jamaal Charles: 90 yards, 1 TD, 2 catches 20 yards

Week seven Fantasy Mailbag:
Which 3 WRs should I start this week: Deion Branch, Brandon Lloyd, Louis Murphy, Colston, Lance Moore and Percy Harvin? I have Tom Brady, Kyle Orton and AP on my team also if that changes anything.
Cam, I’d go with Branch, Lloyd and Colston.
I currently have a 4-2 team, with very weak WRs (traded Colston and Wallace for Foster). My starting wide outs are Murphy and Crayton with Jenkins at flex (I have Collie but he is on a bye). I was thinking of offering up Rodgers for Romo and Boldin. The main reason is to get a top QB who has already had his bye week and for a better WR. Would Rodgers be enough alone? Should I add Murphy or Cribbs or is either offer not enough for Romo and Boldin?
Rico, bravo on the Foster trade as you defiantly came out way ahead on that one. I doubt Rodgers alone would persuade the other owner to give up Romo and Boldin. You might have to up the ante. However, Cribbs isn’t worth much and Murphy isn’t that enticing either. If the other owner really wants Rodgers then offer Rodgers and Murphy for Romo and Boldin and see what he counters with. It’s hard for me to say without knowing the rest of your roster.
I am stock piled at running backs with Turner, Benson, Foster, Bradshaw, and Torain. The guy who drafted Adrian Peterson has him and nobody else…I was talking trade with him and I think I could get Peterson for Turner and Benson or Tuner and Bradshaw. The way I think about it is if I trade two of those three guys I could start Peterson, Foster, and use Bradshaw or Benson at my flex. I know I am giving up a bit but I can only start three of these guys per week so I’m thinking this could be a good deal for me.
What do you think? Is this a trade worth doing considering how much depth I have at RB?
Russ, man you are loaded at RB my friend. Since you have the depth go ahead with an offer for Peterson. I would recommend the Turner and Benson package, but if it takes the Turner and Bradshaw package then you come out on top each way. However, you might want to use that depth to target WRs or a good QB. I say this not knowing your other players, but maybe another position might be more beneficial than getting Peterson.
Who to start? I need 1RB, 2WR and 1Flex.
Jones Drew vs KC
Moss vs GB
Marshall vs PIT
Nicks vs DAL
Forte vs WAS
Moreno vs OAK
Brett, Moreno at RB, Nicks and Moss at WR and Forte as Flex.
Who wins this trade: Team A gets Miles Austin and LT. Team B gets Brandon Marshall and Arian Foster?
BostonTDParty, both teams win. With this trade there is no loser. All four of those guys are fantasy studs and aren’t much different from each other in terms of value. Team A upgrades at WR slightly while Team B upgrades at RB slightly.
My team has:
RB- Spiller, Bradshaw, Lynch, Torain, Bush
WR- Austin, Crabtree, Colston, Dez Bryant, Branch
One Trade I’ve discussed with another team is he wants Bradshaw and I would get Lloyd. Does that make my team better?
Andrew, No it does not. Keep Bradshaw as he is your best RB right now. Your WRs are good, you don’t need to upgrade there.
I have Vick and Flacco on bye in week 8. The league is a 12 teamer that only starts 1 QB. Would you drop Flacco for Freeman and pray that Vick is still the starter after the bye or should I find a way to grab Kolb and Freeman?
My only option to make room for 3 QBs is to drop either Keller or Hernandez but with all of the injuries to tight ends I would rather shop them around the league.
I’ve been going over this again and again but can’t come up with a good solution.
Drew, relax man, I would drop Flacco and pick up Freeman. Vick should be the starter after the bye week, and if not, Freeman isn’t a horrible option. Therefore, keep your TEs.
