Week 10: I’m Getting Tired of Nail-bitters

No one was more afraid of the Raiders tying that game and having a chance to kick another field goal in overtime to win than I was.  At the time I was nursing a very small lead in my fantasy game against possibly one of the worst teams in my league, and he had Sebastian Janikowski.  Sure enough Sebas made the kick to tie and the kick to win it; luckily for me they both weren’t long enough to give my opponent a win.  I got out of that nail-bitter alive; unfortunately our Kansas City Chiefs did not.  The good news is that the Chiefs are still in first place and can improve their standings against Denver this weekend.

Just when it seems like Jamaal Charles was going to be the feature back, he gets only ten carries against the Raiders.  Todd Haley even made mention that it was because of “physical” reasons.  Are we to believe that Charles was injured Sunday?  Could this be a reoccurring problem?  This is defiantly the reason I have been telling people to sell Charles high.  I’ve never been a fan of relying on an unproven back.  However, if Charles is healthy this week he is a good start against the Broncos.  Denver’s rush defense is not very good to be nice, so both Charles and Thomas Jones could see decent action this weekend.  I think both have a chance to get close to 100 yards rushing and a TD each.  Matt Cassel needs to change his name to the Mamba, because he is a roller coaster in terms of fantasy production.  When his matchup is favorable he underperforms and when he shouldn’t be looked at as a starting fantasy QB he surprises.  If you got him this week to fill in for Aaron Rodgers or Philip Rivers, possibly look for another option in Josh Freeman or David Garrard.  I really think the Chiefs gameplan will be very run oriented so Dwayne Bowe would be a flex option this week.  I would continue to keep Tony Moeaki in as your TE as he is a security blanket for Cassel.  Ryan Succop isn’t the worst kicker to start this week, but there are better options available.  I wouldn’t expect the Chiefs Defense/Special Teams to get many turnovers, but I see some sacks in their future this weekend as well as keeping the Broncos below 20 points.
